What the record establishes
Fill the supplied sampling tube at the first Cliffspring River waterfall inland from the coast, then return the water sample to Thundris. Supplied tool: Empty Sampling Tube.

Suggested approach
- Prepare the correct stage
Keep the Empty Sampling Tube and travel north to the Cliffspring River. Identify the first waterfall from the river mouth, with the bridge overhead.
- Follow the named objective
Use this quest's tube in the pool below that waterfall and verify it becomes the named river sample. The cave farther upstream belongs to other tasks, so do not enter it simply to fill this tube.
- Confirm credit and hand over
Return the sample to Thundris in Auberdine. If the item refuses to work, compare the active quest and vessel name before searching a different waterfall.
Planning notes
The lower river sample and the upper cave mushrooms can appear in the same travel plan, but they require different interactions. Filling the correct vessel at the named lower waterfall prevents a wasted cave search.
If progress stalls
Compare Empty Sampling Tube with the water tube from the red-crystal chain. The two vessels have different location requirements; a failed use is not evidence that every waterfall is broken.
