Suggested approach

  1. Prepare the correct stage

Accept the named referral after completing the scouting work offered by Terenthis. Keep this short handoff distinct from the later river-sampling quest.

  2. Follow the named objective

Find Thundris in Auberdine and speak to him. No item collection or furbolg kill counter is listed for this referral.

  3. Confirm credit and hand over

Finish the conversation and check whether The Cliffspring River is offered. Obtain its sampling tube before leaving town for the northern outing.

Planning notes

This handoff is an opportunity to prepare the next outing in town. Complete the conversation and inspect the new request before travelling; being told about Thundris does not itself supply the river-sampling tool.

If progress stalls

Check whether the referral or the sampling quest is active. If the former remains open, resolve its conversation before looking for river water.
