Prepare the correct stage
Check that the active quest is The Red Crystal before heading east from Auberdine toward the mountain wall.
Follow the named objective
Approach the red crystal closely enough for exploration credit. The objective does not request a crystal fragment or a quota of moonkin kills; watch the quest tracker while moving around the ledge.
Confirm credit and hand over
Once the discovery registers, return to Glynda. Her subsequent water-tube task is a separate quest, so finish this report before preparing that second trip.

Planning notes

Treat this as a scouting trip. Its useful completion signal is discovery credit; collecting unrelated crystal items or clearing the surrounding creatures does not replace that signal. The water interaction belongs to the following stage.

If progress stalls

Check which red-crystal stage is active. If the log still requests discovery, inspect the map area and approach rather than borrowing the water-tube instructions. Older route references place the crystal around Darkshore 47.3, 48.7; confirm the current beta map rather than treating the coordinate as a verified spawn.
