Finish the five-pelt material stage first

Suggested approach

Prepare the correct stage
Check that you have quest ID 986, the pelt collection stage. Terenthis needs materials before the later search for Volcor can begin.
Follow the named objective
Hunt the named Moonstalker Sires or Matriarchs near the southern Wildbend River route described by the quest. Check actual Fine Moonstalker Pelts after looting and continue until five are collected.
Confirm credit and hand over
Bring the pelts back to Terenthis. Complete this material handoff before accepting the same-name follow-up; finding Volcor alone does not replace the five-pelt requirement.

Planning notes

This first A Lost Master record gathers materials. The same-name search stage is a later task, so use the ID and pelt requirement to decide whether to keep hunting or start travelling to a person.

If progress stalls

Check for quest 986 and five Fine Moonstalker Pelts. Looking for Volcor while this material stage is active does not meet its objective. Older comments disagree about northern versus southern farming efficiency. No current beta drop rate, optimal spawn route, or guaranteed completion time is confirmed.
