What the record establishes

This is the Alliance record for Kelris’s head, returned to Dawnwatcher Selgorm in Darnassus. The source lists In Search of Thaelrid as its preceding step. Quest 6561 is the separate Thunder Bluff version.

Suggested approach

  1. Check the preceding step

    Before the relevant encounter, inspect In Search of Thaelrid and confirm that Blackfathom Villainy is actually accepted. A same-title record for the other return destination is not a substitute.

  2. Distinguish a kill from a collection

    After the Kelris encounter, check the loot and your own quest tracker for the head. Do not leave solely because the party killed the named enemy.

  3. Plan the right handover

    Once the item is credited, follow this record’s Darnassus destination. Compare the current reward choices against your equipment rather than relying on an untested best-item ranking.

Planning notes

This quest illustrates two common routing mistakes: an unaccepted follow-up and a wrong faction variant. Check those before the boss, then check possession afterward. The preparation has more practical value than a speculative combat strategy derived only from the quest title.

If progress stalls

We have not tested Kelris’s current abilities, encounter order or head distribution. The same boss objective in another version does not make the return NPC interchangeable.
