The expensive mistake is reaching the right dungeon with the wrong personal quest state. Use this preparation sheet to turn a collection of quest names into a group plan, then open the individual guides for the source details.

Can you accept Dalaran quests at level 30?

The eight public quest records list minimum acceptance 24 and quest level 33. The dungeon database lists Group Finder minimum 28. These describe different things: acceptance does not guarantee queue access, a successful clear, or a level-24 route through every encounter.

Blizzard opened Dalaran for beta testing on October 8. Check your current character's access and active quest log before making a party plan.

Build your Dalaran preparation list

Tick a row once you have checked its acceptance and objective. Ticks are saved only in this browser. They do not query your character or confirm completion. The final row stays visible for both filters because its faction restriction is not established by our source record.

Mark your own preparation checks below.

Check that the blossom task is accepted before travelling; confirm the Fel Infused Blossom on your own tracker before leaving.

A Green Sample · Source record

Tell the group you need Arcanic Enigma. The objective calls it a Mana Elemental; an unrelated elemental kill is not your completion check.

Power Overwhelming · Source record

Check An Alarming Request and your Dalaran Sewer Key stage. Confirm the Arcane Mote collection quest is actually active.

Heart of Disruption · Source record

Check Blood in the Streets and the key stage. Keep your Horde return instruction; the Alliance handover is a different record.

Heart of Disruption · Source record

Flag The Founding of Dalaran book as a collection stop. A boss clear alone does not establish book credit.

Opportunistic Education · Source record

Check that the task is accepted before departure. Count six Cracked Sentry Cores on your own character.

Source of Power · Source record

Add Atrexis the Grave Knight to the agreed goals and check credit after that encounter.

The Grave Knight · Source record

Check live faction availability. Track eight Seeking Remnants, eight Saturated Remnants and eight Mana Echoes separately.

Starving Arcane · Source record

Before travel: make one pickup pass

For Alliance, the public beta log records Shylamiir in Stormwind's Park at 31.3, 62.9 and Andromath in the Wizard's Sanctum at 48.8, 87.6. Treat these October 10 observations as pickup references, not a route we have tested. Confirm both tasks locally before committing to the journey. For Horde, check the Undercity and Tarren Mill tasks in your list before heading toward Dalaran.

Heart of Disruption deserves its own check. Seeing a group member open an entrance is not proof that your character accepted the item collection. The Alliance record follows An Alarming Request; the Horde record follows Blood in the Streets. Compare your exact quest ID with the corresponding page. If a key or preceding step is missing, sort it out before the group is ready to pull.

Inside: agree on objectives rather than a promised route

At formation, ask everyone to name their non-boss collection stops. A useful message is: “I need the library book, my named boss objective, and a final loot check.” This tells the group where a pause will matter without assuming that every member needs the same route.

A public player report places the Horde book at the back of the Silver Enclave library and Arcanic Enigma in the northeast Path of Renewal. Use those landmarks to orient a search; they are not our verified coordinates. If the landmark does not match the live instance, keep the exact target name in view and use the dated guide and player reports to compare the description.

For Heart of Disruption, the Dungeon Quests Forever addon author's October 9 correction identifies the Arcane Mote with Shade of the Archmage, the final Violet Citadel boss, for both variants. That supports asking for a final-boss loot check. It supplies no guaranteed drop rate or assurance that another player's loot credits your quest. Read the exact author release note.

Before leaving: three short checks

  1. Read every personal tracker. For a collection objective, check the item name and count rather than merely remembering the kill.
  2. Name the missing counter. Starving Arcane has three categories. “Mana Echoes 6/8” is useful; “the run did not work” is difficult to act on.
  3. Keep the return destination. Separate completed objectives from a usable handover. A complete tracker and an unresponsive recipient call for a different diagnosis from an unlooted item.

Player reports describe both short Starving Arcane clears and a completed-counter handover failure. These are separate reports, not a universal one-run limit or a confirmed fix. Open Starving Arcane for the caveats and the quest-state diagnostic before scheduling an undefined extra clear.

Choose a return reward with a slot in mind

Before turning in, open the individual quest's reward comparison and inspect its item references. Decide which equipped slot you are trying to improve, whether the item fits your role, and what you already have. The two Heart variants offer different choices, so a recommendation for the other faction may not apply.

A dungeon quest reward is a decision you can prepare for; a boss drop is a separate source of uncertainty. Keep both in your plan without treating either as a proven best-in-slot route. Our reward-versus-drop guide and Dalaran loot evidence explain that distinction.
