What the record establishes
William Pestle in Goldshire requests eight Large Candles. The quest description points to kobolds in the Fargodeep and Jasperlode mine areas.

Suggested approach
- Check the exact item
Track Large Candles rather than a generic candle or the Glowing Wax Stick listed as a reward. Objective items and rewards have different roles.
- Inspect the first loot result
At a named kobold area, check whether your loot advances the candle counter. Keep Gold Dust Exchange visible too if you have accepted it, but do not assume both counters advance on every kill.
- Audit the return trip
When the candle requirement is complete, compare any unfinished mine objectives. Return to William for this quest, keeping the dust delivery separate.
Planning notes
Decide on a trip by the objectives still outstanding, not by the first completion notification. A combined collection can save travel, but continuing after both counters finish only adds combat unrelated to these tasks. If the area feels unsafe, the shared geography does not make the combined route compulsory.
If progress stalls
Rewards with wax-themed names do not satisfy the Large Candle objective. No drop probability, respawn circuit or optimal class choice has been verified for the current beta.
